Obituary for Virginia Ruth Tankersley (Thomas)

Virginia Ruth Tankersley (Thomas)
Ruth Tankersley age 85 of Danville, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born in Rockcastle County to the late Dewey and Nora Virgie Dees Thomas. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witness Church in Danville.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband David Tankersley Jr., two brothers Jimmy Thomas and Clayton Lee Thomas; three brothers-in-law Bob Davis, Hugh Hendricks, and Eddie Barnes.
She is survived by her five children Duane (Lynette) Tankersley, Jeff Tankersley, Ken Tankersley, Lisa (Les) Milburn, and Eric Tankerlsey; her siblings Louise Davis, Pat (Harry) Pallant, Mike (Janice) Thomas, Phyllis Hendricks, Mary Jane (Gene) Isaacs, Barbara (John) Fischer, J.C. (Margie) Thomas, Cathy Barnes, and Marjorie (James) Norris; eleven grandchildren Jesse, Jake, Gabrielle, Megan, Ashley, Nikita, April, Jacob, Alex, Brock and Derek; several great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law Alisha Thomas.
Funeral services will be 1pm, Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Lakes Funeral Home with the Jehovah’s Witness Church performing the services. Burial will follow in the Dees-Harding Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11am Thursday morning at the funeral home.
